The department's Graduation Ceremony will follow the Lawn Ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at 1:00pm in the Culbreth Theatre (the Drama Building) rain or shine. Degree candidates in Latin American Studies, Italian Studies and Spanish will participate in the ceremony. Fourth-year Curry BA/MT students who have completed their Spanish major requirements will be recognized as well. Students who received their degree in Summer 2014 and December 2014 may participate in the ceremony.
Tickets are required to enter the ceremony. Fire code regulations limit how many people can enter the theater, so a ticket system is used to track the number of guests in attendance. Each guest (including children, persons in wheelchairs, etc.) must present a ticket in order to enter the ceremony. Graduates participating in the ceremony DO NOT need a ticket.
In late April, tickets will be distributed to the degree candidates who plan to participate in the ceremony. Graduates are responsible for distributing tickets to their guests. Any unclaimed tickets will be distributed at the door on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the ceremony, beginning at 12:15pm.
